Commencing on May 30, 2024, Finnair is set to launch a twice-weekly service to Nagoya, Japan, revitalizing a route that was previously operational before the pandemic interruption. Additionally, the airline has announced enhancements to its winter 2024 schedule, which include increased flight offerings to the British Isles, Iceland, and sought-after vacation spots in Portugal and the Canary Islands.

Ole Orvér, Finnair’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about reinstating the Nagoya route, emphasizing the airline’s already robust Japan service with existing flights to Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports, along with Osaka. “With the onset of the 2024 summer season, we’ll be offering a total of twenty flights per week to various Japanese destinations,” Orvér noted.

He also mentioned that Finnair is set to enhance its winter travel options with attractive packages to favorite tourist spots for the 2024 winter season.

Starting in October 2024, Finnair will introduce regular services to three destinations, previously only served by charter flights. This includes twice-weekly flights to Faro, Portugal, and to both Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.

In a move to cater to the high demand for leisure travel, Finnair plans to operate flights to two major holiday destinations using widebody aircraft. The airline will add three additional weekly flights to Dubai utilizing the Airbus A330, and the route to Las Palmas will be served by the Airbus A350.

Furthermore, Finnair is set to expand its flight frequency to the British Isles during the forthcoming winter schedule. Manchester will benefit from five extra weekly flights, while Dublin and Edinburgh will each receive an increase of two weekly flights. These additional services are designed to connect seamlessly with Finnair’s network to Northern Finland, Scandinavia, and Japan, facilitating convenient travel options for passengers.
